MUSTARD SEED FURNITURE BANK RESPONDING

TO THE NEEDS OF THE GOLFVIEW FIRE VICTIMS

 

On Thursday, March 8th fire destroyed 17 households at the Golfview Apartments in Fort Wayne impacting the lives of 26 adults. These individuals are now working to reestablish their homes and the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank will be a resource for their furniture, linen and basic kitchenware needs.  Working with the apartment complex, the St. Joe Township Trustees Office and the American Red Cross in this effort but are now needing the support and generosity of the community.

 

The warehouse stock is reduced with the daily clients served by this nonprofit agency; but with this unfortunate situation will be severely taxing to the overall operation.  The Mustard Seed Furniture Bank will be accepting the following items to meet the needs of these residents and those referred in due to other catastrophic situations.

 

Items needed includes:

#1 Need:  mattresses and box springs/foundation along with complete bed size frames

Sofas/Loveseats

Living Room Chairs

End and Coffee Tables

Dressers and Shelving Units – not to exceed 6’ in height

Dining/Kitchen Tables & Chairs

Along with bed size sheets and blankets

Bath towels – included wash clothes, hand and bath towels

Dish Clothes

Basic Kitchenware

Specifically:  pots & pans, counter-top appliances, bakeware, dinnerware and silverware.

 

All items need to be clean, in working order and free of rips, tears, stains and animal hair.

Material and financial donations accepted by the Mustard Seed are tax deductible and receipts are provided.

 

PLEASE:  NO donations be left outside their building, entrances or driveway.

 

Additional Drop-Off Hours at the Mustard Seed, located at 3636 Illinois Road, to accommodate this great need will be:

Friday, March 16, 2018                   10 am – 4 pm

Monday, March 19, 2018                10 am – 6:30 pm

Tuesday, March 20, 2018               10 am – 4 pm

Wednesday, March 21, 2018         7 am – 4 pm

Resuming regular hours on Thursday 10 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday.
